Joseph Caldarise

Joseph Caldarise (b. 1991) is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, conductor, and teacher. He began studying music at age 7 with the piano, at age 10 he began studying the trumpet, and at age 15 he switched to the euphonium. He has a BM in Music Education from Ithaca College, where he studied piano with Phiroze Mehta, euphonium with Dave Unland and Dr. Aaron Tindall, and he also studied orchestration with Dr. Rebecca Jemian. At Ithaca, he arranged for the Ithaca College Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, the IC Gamer Symphony Orchestra, the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, and other student groups. His works have been performed by Dr. Aaron Tindall and Steven Mead. He is the composer of the school song for Duval Charter School at Westside in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a strong advocate for the euphonium, and sees arranging as a terrific way to expand the repertoire for the instrument.

He currently teaches K-4 General Music at the Excellence Girls Elementary Academy in Brooklyn, New York. He currently resides in New York City.
