Derek Fenstermacher

Derek Fenstermacher is currently principal tubist with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and on faculty at the Bard College Conservatory of Music. He has performed with numerous other orchestras, most notably the New York Philharmonic, and taught masterclasses at universities across the country. As a soloist Derek has won numerous accolades, including first prize at the 2008 Leonard Falcone Artist Tuba Competition. As a avid chamber musician, he is a founding member of the Boreas Quartet, and also an active member of the New York Tuba Quartet. When Derek is not playing tuba with the Boreas Quartet, he is busy working on new arrangements for the ensemble.
