Description

“Ta Da” Fanfare was written in December 2010 as a tribute to the California State University Long Beach Wind Symphony and itʼs conductor, John Carnahan. The premier was May 5, 2011 at CSULB. It is a 2 minute “show off” piece to open a concert. It uniquely presents two antiphonal brass quartets in front, on each side  of the wind band. The piece opens with several “ta da” statements in the soli brass over scale flourishes in the band. That blends into a lively rhythmic pattern in the drums with pentatonic accents in the winds. The percussion drive forward and the flourishes return for a big fanfare ending. “Ta Da”

This version is for Brass Band
