Description
Pastorale is an arrangement for mixed clarinet trio by Scot Humes.
This charming and lively work was written in 1935 during a period when reed trios had become quite popular, with many of the early works for this ensemble being the result of a need for repertoire by the Paris Reed Trio. In this arrangement, the E-flat clarinet replaces the oboe and bass clarinet replaces bassoon. I believe you will find that it works extremely well and the sounds of the three different members of the clarinet family blend quite well to also maintain the integrity, and variety, of the combination of timbres from the original instruments.
