From the composer:
Obsessed with Treasure is a high-energy piece that is rhythmically based on variations of the syncopated Afro-Cuban bell pattern. The piece develops when the pattern gets shifted, displaced and truncated. Harmonically, the piece uses a chord progression that is often found in Flamenco music: i – bVII – bVI – V. The solo section at letter G is optional. If decided no to be played, go directly to letter H after playing the measure before letter G. However, if the section at letter G is played, it can be repeated as many times as desired with any of the players improvising.
