The piece is a “Tanguistic color piece,” where the clarinet and piano have a “dance dialogue.” The piece is also available in additional versions with piano and other solo instruments, including trumpet, alto sax, soprano saxophone, violin , clarinet, and flute, as well as a solo piano version. It was written in 1999, and has been performed numerous times across the different versions.
