Canzon XVII was the final Canzon by Gabrieli, and was not originally written for any specific instrumentation. This edition was arranged for three tuba-euphonium quartets to cover the full range of the work while accounting for the changes in character necessary throughout the work, and was recorded by Steven Mead on “Euphonium Magic, Vol. 3.”
