Patrick Schulz

Patrick Schulz (DMA, Arizona State University; MM, University of Nebraska – Lincoln; BM, University of Wisconsin – Madison) is Professor of Music Theory at El Camino College where he teaches all levels of music theory, music fundamentals, and music appreciation.  Before relocating to the Los Angeles area, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Arizona State University and an Adjunct Instructor at Paradise Valley Community College and Arizona State University West.  A composer of a wide range of music, Patrick has been commissioned to create works for many notable soloists and ensembles and has had many successful premieres of his music at conferences, festivals, and colleges/universities.  His music is published by eBrassMusic, Potenza Music, and Tuba-Euphonium Press and recorded on albums released by Summit Records, Potenza Music, Demondrae Thurman, and the Sotto Voce Quartet.  A previous Besson Performing Artist on euphonium and former member of the Sotto Voce Quartet, Patrick recorded three CDs on the Summit Records Label (​Consequences, Viva Voce!, and Refractions) and toured throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe with the group.
