Kevin McKenzie

Originating from Olive Branch, Mississippi, Kevin McKenzie’s musical talent was first revealed at a young age by his piano instructor. He went on to join choir while attending the Northpoint School, a college preparatory school in Mississippi. While also participating in the school’s band, he directed the brass choir, as well as, won numerous best solo awards on Euphonium. In 2008 and 2009, Mr. McKenzie competed in the WGI World Championships of Percussion on marimba and drum set, where the ensemble placed 6th against groups from all over the world. In addition, he is a charter member of the Music City Drum & Bugle Corps, where he was a featured soloist for three years. He also marched with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and later went on to teach at Music City for the 2013 season. Kevin has won many solo competitions on euphonium and competed nationally and internationally with the iTuba Quartet. Kevin is currently working towards a degree in Music Education at the University of Memphis and carries on in his success by arranging, composing, performing, and working as an music educator across the United States.
