Waves – Two Fantastic Chapters for Tuba and Piano – Hidenori Arai
This piece was written in January 2012, and commissioned for a recital by Shota Ikeda.
Mr. Ikeda requested a piece “in two movements, catchy but rewarding to the listener”. Although this piece has two movements, it is predominated by one main motif.
Passing through many emotions, the motif transforms into various styles and themes which then move wavelike, full of color and overflowing with energy.
