Lon Chaffin’s Unfolding Motives is a three movement work with movements titled Toccata, Canzona, and Fugue. the Toccata features quick-moving lines that demonstrate the player’s physical dexterity. The Canzon is a song, and the Fugue features an intellectualized, calculated, mosaic dialogue.
