Description

Tramp, Tramp, Tramp is a fantasia on the Civil War-era tune by the same name, originally writen in 1864. The folk tune, also known as “Prisoner’s Hope”, was one of the most popular songs of the American Civil War. The song, written from the prisoner’s point of view, tells his fellow prisoners that hope is coming. This timeless tune has been used across the musical gamut, including the children’s song “Jesus Loves the Little Children” and the Mormon hymn, “In Our Loveley Deseret”.
