Description
Samba Mojito was commissioned in 2022 by the Keystone Quartet, a wonderful group of 2 euphoniums and 2 tubas. It was later recorded on their CD, Keystone Kitchen. It is a 5 minute, up tempo Samba that requires precise Latin grooves to feel right. The piece features written-out jazz solos for the 1st Euphonium and 1st Tuba. To make the samba “grooves” the quartet had LA studio Latin percussionist Joey de Leon provided authentic Samba tracks. The result is very exciting!
