Arranger Derek Fenstermacher says, “Rachmaninoff composed this Prelude in G Minor in 1901, and included it in his Opus 23 as part of a series of ten piano preludes. Premiered by the composer in 1903, the work remains one of his most famous pieces of music. It has been recorded and performed by numerous pianists and also arranged for chamber orchestra.”
