Description
Unique to most operatic fantasies from the 19th century, Pensieri Belliniani – Fantasia contains themes from more than one opera by Vincenzo Bellini: Il Pirata (1827) and La Sonnambula (1831). The fantasy begins with eleven measures of original material by Salieri that sets a dramatic stage for the scene that follows. The piece progresses from this introduction through a Lento, Allegro, a theme with two variations and a brilliant coda featuring stunning passagework for the clarinetist.
