The Industrial Quartet was inspired by the movement of the cities on the East Coast of the United States. The work displays the interplay between the daily city’s commotions and the calmness of the city’s evenings when travelers and workers return from their challenging commutes through tall buildings, and bustling city lights. Jazzy harmonies preempt and suggest intensity, and most abruptly, busy semi-rhythmic lines create the motion and life of the cities.
