Description
Attila was originally composed for military band by Julius Fućík (1872-1916) in 1908. Fućík was a prolific Czech composer. Although he died at the young age of 44, he composed over 400 marches, polkas, and waltzes. He spent a lot of his career playing with, conducting, and composing for military bands. Some of his most recognizable works are The Florentiner March and Entrance of the Gladiators which has become ubiquitous as the theme for circuses and specifically circus clowns. Attila is named after the fifth century ruler of the Hunnic Empire know as Attila the Hun. He is one of the most infamous and feared conquerors in history. This march embodies the ferocious legacy of one of history’s most notorious leaders.
