Alex van Duuren is a graduate of the University of Michigan, having received two Master of Music Degrees from the prestigious School of Music, Theater, and Dance (M.M. Trombone Performance and M.M. Chamber Music). He also has received a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Florida (B.M. Music Performance). As an instrumental professional, Alex has performed with Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, Disneyland in Los Angeles, California, the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra, the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, the Adrian Symphony Orchestra, the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra, and as a featured soloist with the University of Florida Symphony Orchestra as well as with the Arizona Symphony Orchestra. Alongside regular engagements as a performing artist, Alex is an active pianist, composer, and music theorist. His compositions find their focal point with low brass instruments, and his works have been performed at a variety of venues across the country. Alex currently lives in Tucson, Arizona, where he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Arizona, and serving as a Teaching Assistant for the Trombone Studio.
