Rolando Penate

Rolando Penate, a Miami native, enjoys an eclectic participation in music ranging from performing on the Tuba in any given setting/genre, to composing and arranging music. On the Tuba, Rolando has completed his Undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida under the guidance of Jay Hunsberger and is currently fulfilling his Master’s degree in New York at the Manhattan School of Music with Kyle Turner. Earlier studies also include Calvin Jenkins as well as chamber coaching from Brain Neal (former Trumpeter of the Dallas Brass). Rolando also had lessons and/or performed in masterclasses for the likes of Oystein Baadsvik, Dan Perantoni, Sam Pilafian, Demondrae Thurman, Adam Fry, Jay Bertolet, Dennis Askew, Etc.

Recent exploits include performing with the Miami Summer Music Festival as principal Tubist for the summers of both 2015, 16. as well as performing Miles Davis’ “Miles Ahead” Suite for Jazz Orchestra at the famous Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola in Lincoln Center.
